Beste leden,
Ik had al een tijdje het idee om een stukje te gaan schrijven maar aangezien ik niet zo’n schrijver ben, heeft het even geduurd voor ik iets in mijn hoofd had. Maar het is er nu toch van gekomen.
Ik zal mijzelf nog een keer voorstellen voor diegene die mij nog niet kennen: ik ben Willem Diepeveen, bestuurslid en toekomstig penningmeester van de Veenendaalse Truckers Vereniging (velen kennen mij misschien beter van de naam Desperado die op mijn auto staat).
En nu zul je denken ‘waarom toekomstig penningmeester?’. Nou dat zal ik eens vertellen: Wim Bouman, zeer gewaardeerd bestuurslid en penningmeester, gaat met wel verdiend pensioen per 31 december 2020. Vandaar toekomstig en ben ik dus vanaf 1 januari 2021 penningmeester. Ook is in ons midden, iemand van het bestuur, ernstig ziek is. Deze persoon wil ik alle sterkte toewensen.
En zo zien we beste leden, er gebeurd van alles maar eigenlijk ook helemaal niks. En ja hoor, daar komt het Corona. Wat een klote virus is want je kun niks & je mag niks. Dan in één keer halverwege het jaar denk je: ‘’potdikke, het gaat beter!’’. We kregen ook weer zin om een evenement te organiseren, want wat waren we enthousiast de afgelopen jaren. De truckshow werd steeds beter en mooier, want gelukkig hebben we diversen enthousiasten bestuursleden en vrijwilligers (dat kunnen er altijd meer worden, ook bestuursleden zouden we graag een paar meer hebben. Dus voel je je eigen geroepen, laat het ons weten). Ook dit jaar zou de truckshow weer beter en mooier worden maar helaas daar kwam Corona een stokje daarvoor steken, zeg maar een beste stok.
Ook hadden we wat leuke uitstapjes op de agenda staan zoals met een paar leden en hun auto’s naar een truckshow in Zweden, met een bus vol naar de IAA in Hannover of even lekker gezellig bowlen. Man, wat hadden we daar een zin aan en wat dachten jullie van gewoon de B.B.B., ook altijd gezellig. Gelukkig hebben we die nog 2 keer kunnen doen. Tot zover het negatieve.
Natuurlijk zijn er ook positieve dingen, al zijn ze klein. We hebben toch door het jaar heen weer diverse mensen ontmoet die, als er weer een truckshow komt, vinnig leuke ideeën hebben. Ook willen we een nieuwe trailer gaan bouwen voor de vereniging zodat deze wat makkelijker mee kan naar de diversen evenementen die wij willen gaan bezoeken in de toekomst (dus ben jij griezelig handig en heb jij zin om ons te helpen met de trailer, laat het ons weten ) .
